UD & DSU have played quite a bit since then & no game has ever been close! That was the reason for never playing DSU!
I recommend you talk to people in the HBCU community about that. Plenty of schools over the years have played HBCU’s in state and know the game won’t be close. JMU even played a game at Norfolk State as a home/home. Was a great recruiting opportunity.
You’re of course entitled to your opinion but implying that I don’t know the history of those schools or college football match ups/politics is certainly a stretch. Furthermore, the writer in question may have had that take back then, but that doesn’t absolve him from the fact that he expressed a sentiment loaded with undertones that given his age, he knew exactly what he was doing.
He said what he said. He’s sticking by his words, and hopefully we all grow from him putting his feelings out there. Perhaps rather than worry about his neighborhood being tarnished with Hampton, he should worry about the fact that Delawares basketball team lost to them last year.
