The Health Chronicles: The Dreaded Plateau
Progress in Some Areas, Less in Others
When one goes on a diet or a new exercise regimen, it is well documented that there can often be a plateau effect after a few weeks or so. After seeing significant gains (or losses), things start to level off. This is where people usually get discouraged.
I hit one this week. My waist did not continue to shrink, and the weight loss was minimal. However, I did not let this discourage me, because it was also not all bad news. If anything, it has encouraged me to step up my efforts in ways that I can continue to see improvements over time.
I did not have the best week mentally, so I may have indulged in the sweets from my little cousin’s birthday party a little more than I should. I also did not walk as much given the heat. I can fix all of this though and continue to improve. And as I said, not all was bad. My screen time went down again, and I saw a significant uptick in my sleep towards the end of the week. So, we keep pushing, and keep positive!
Now for some check ins:
Did I drink this week? No.
Did I have junk food? Yes, but I am not beating myself up for it. It was delicious and needed haha.
Average Walking Distance: 5.1 Miles per day.
Sleep Average: 6 Hours, 51 Minutes. Massive improvement, especially these last few days!
Screen Time average: 5 Hours, 54 Minutes, down 5 percent. The top used apps did not change, and I am hoping to continue to wean myself from the phone.
Average Notifications: 436 per day. I am putting this in as a reference to another article, about how I want to minimize constant noise coming from my phone.
Changing up some fitness routines this week, and hopefully will continue to foster good mental health vibes as well. Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Maybe we are at some plateau of health if we survive to live another day.
