The Health Chronicles: Introduction
Slightly out of my comfort zone, but I am excited to start this dialogue!
Hello!
Welcome to the section where I will be chronicling my journey to a healthier lifestyle. For this space I will talk about my workouts, what I am eating, mental health exercises, and overall health thoughts that come to mind. I haven’t decided which day I will publish these, but I would say once a week minimum, Sunday or Monday I would like to publish a basic health week in review.
This is not meant to be a “journal” so to speak, but more of an open dialogue with myself, and hopefully others who want to join me on the journey to healthier living.
Some quick logistics. I will share SOME body measurements on occasion. I will not do so excessively because I don’t believe that is healthy, and weight especially can be triggering for some people. I am doing this to keep myself honest, not to try and make anyone feel some kind of way.
I will also share some of the favorite things I have eaten that week. This is not a place where I will count calories, but more so what kinds of foods I am eating. Hopefully, you all will notice a shift towards more healthy choices overall! I will also share when I do have my occasional “bad” foods. I don’t think a health journey has to be infallible or perfect. That’s setting oneself up for a letdown.
I’ll also keep track of alcohol consumption here as well. I am not drinking now, and honestly, I am not sure when I will again, or even if I will. What I want the space to be is where I can eventually keep track of what I have drank when I do, and how it made me feel. As of writing this first installment, I haven’t had a drink in 2 months.
Finally, I will keep track of workouts and mental health exercises as well. I may pick a particular workout or guided meditation that spoke to me and then speak a little on how it made me feel. This is another way to keep myself accountable and keep track of how I feel after certain workouts as well!
Now, for some initial measurements, and welcome to my journey!
Weight: 178.8 pounds
Waist Circumference: 39 inches
Did I drink this week? No
Did I have junk food? Yes, but not from fast food.
Sleep: 6 hours, 31 minutes on average. Felt restful but woke up in the middle of the night Thursday. Thankfully, got back to sleep.
Miles Walked Per Day Average: 5
Workout that I enjoyed: I have walked twice this weekend, each for a little over 35 minutes, and at a pretty brisk pace. I didn’t listen to music or podcasts while I walked, and really enjoyed being with my own positive thoughts. This is something I plan on doing more often, especially when walking in nature.

Way to go! You got this! I also love walking. I walked off so much weight in Japan, gained it all back coming here LOL. The weather is never cooperative, so I should really bust out my treadmill!
