I love a movie that is just for fun. We do not really get comedies anymore. Most of them are tied down with action or romance these days. The Naked Gun movies are some of my favorites because they are all about the humor. A gag a second! If you have not seen them I would recommend checking them out. Really any of the ZAZ movies are great! I hope we see more comedies like this in the future. I really miss hearing the entire theater laughing.

It is a lost form of human connection for sure. I think the pandemic really hampered some of that collective laughter and coming together in general. Though, it seems to be slowly coming back. We need more fun movies. We need to smile and laugh more. I think it would cure a lot of the brain rot that ails this world and all the hate we see nowadays.

I agree completely. All we need is a little laughter to brighten the day.

As a pop culture podcaster (shameless self-promotion), I appreciate "guilty pleasure" flicks. I'm not so much a Grown Ups guy, but I am an Expendables guy and none of those movies are winning Oscars anytime soon. Btw, Deadpool & Wolverine is 5-star fun. Deadpool is perhaps the best solo Marvel trilogy so far. Great read, Preston!

I can’t wait to see Deadpool and Wolverine. I have avoided what I believe to be any massive spoilers and certainly nothing plot related has been revealed to me. People posting spoilers because of reaction videos is something else perhaps go write on another time haha.

And I agree. Honestly the first time I had this thought I decided to watch one of the Transformers movies. Just big, loud, guilty pleasure 😂 movies should be given the space to just be fun and not everything needs a thought piece. I think that’s why many people sour on uppity critics. Expectations should somewhat change depending on what you have paid to see. We do that with other forms of art! I’m not going to critique a symphony orchestra performance the same way I would a local rock band in a dive bar.

Thank you for reading, and u am glad it spoke to you! I’ve always been someone who loves to make others smile and laugh. I kind of talked about it in something else I wrote a few weeks ago. I hope that as people migrate more back to social gatherings and movies, we realize how much we love being around other humans (for the most part haha). We all have so much more in common than we don’t, despite what entities with the loudest megaphones might say.
