The Health Chronicles: Getting Back On Track
Incremental Progress, not a Sprint
Last week I elaborated on how sometimes depression can hit and hit hard, and it definitely affected some of the health things I was slowly but surely putting into place for myself. In the past, I probably would have gone to an “extreme” and gone hardcore back into the same healthy habit. Get right back to where I was like nothing happened.
This time is different.
Rather than try and push myself too hard I am being kinder to myself. I have slowly but surely gotten back to eating healthier. I have gotten back to daily walking but did not do much other exercise. Tomorrow I will add daily meditation back into my rotation. This week I will get back to healthier eating and more food prep as well. Hopefully as these things improve, I’ll get back to the progress I was seeing, especially when it comes to sleep.
Now, some check ins:
Did I drink this week? No.
Did I have junk food? Yes. There were still some unexpected stressors this week and I did kind of spoil myself. Better this than turning to booze though IMO. Healthier coping to come soon though!
Average Walking Distance: 4.4 Miles per day.
Sleep Average: 6 Hours 18 Minutes. Improvement, but we can definitely do better. Hopefully getting into more healthy habits will help.
Screen Time Average: 7 Hours 35 Minutes. It would have been better this week, but I went a little nuts during the Olympics opening ceremony hahaha.
Speaking of the Olympics, what a wonderful event that kicked off this weekend. I know I have been watching intently. Not only has it given me a good vibes boost, it’s also great inspiration to get myself into great shape. I know that physical health helps me with overall health, and the Olympics are wonderful motivation for me to be more active.
That’s all for now. I look forward to checking in next week!
