State of the Publication

A Quick Outlook of My Vision Moving Forward

If you are receiving this notification as an email or a notification, thank you for subscribing! I have seen substantial growth in subscribers and followers over the last month or so, and I look forward to continuing to grow this space. As such, I wanted to outline my vision for this publishing, my sections, and my visions for creating more offerings for all of you. First though, I need your help.

Sections

Right now, I split my newsletter into sections. I have done so because I wanted to give people the opportunity to subscribe to different areas of my writing just in case they did not want notification for all of it. The sections are as follows:

• The Health Chronicles

• General Sports

• College Football

• College Softball

What I need to know from you all is if you have the ability to choose which of these sections you get notifications from. If you can do so, great! If not, I may be separating into different publications moving forward. I just need this data so I can know how best to proceed with getting the writing to the people that want it on specific subjects!

College Football Series

This football season, I will be publishing a series about the most influential college football programs of all time. It’ll likely be 3 posts a week, counting down I *believe* 39 teams. I am working on the content this summer and can’t wait to show you all of the research I have done. 

The *Scary* Leap of Faith

As of posting this, I will be turning on paid subscriptions for my newsletter, along with a buy me a coffee account if you would like to give one off donations. What I plan to do with this in terms of exclusive content and what not is still a work in progress, but for now this is purely for people who wish to support the work I do and have the financial means to do so. However, with your support you can expect the following things to become more prevalent in my writing moving forward and these are the sorts of projects you will be supporting. 

• Better equipment for writing. My laptop is adequate but not efficient.

• Improved audio quality as I plan to record more of my essays for ease of consumption and access for others.

• Research into subject matter I genuinely have a passion for. 

• Harder hitting subject matter especially when it comes to the history of sports. I am not sure whether or not this will be behind a paywall or archived after a certain time, but I already have a few articles written up.

• Support the software I will be using and research I will be doing to write a book on the complete history of college football and how it coincides with American history post civil war.

• Exclusive updates and insights into the aforementioned book.

A Book? A BOOK!

Perhaps I buried the lead here, but yes, I am in the process of mapping out a book that has an endless well of information and content. As most of you know my favorite sport is college football, and I am a MASSIVE history nut. As such, I have found it disappointing that there really isn’t a great book that chronicles the history of college football from its inception in the Northeast to whatever it has become now. You can find deep dives on individual teams, stats, and even history on entities such as HBCU’s or conferences. But, nothing I have found ties it all together, and it definitely does not do so while also tying in the context of American history overall. 

This is my daunting ambition, but something on which my passion will never waver. I am not worried about writing something that is not long enough to create a great story. I am more nervous about leaving something out even though the undertaking is likely to still be massive. My series on the most influential college football programs of all time is a great starting point for this book, and I can’t wait to expand on the subject.
